Lauren Henry, an educator with experience in child psychology and art, founded a design company that focuses on spaces for children with autism. When she was actively teaching children, she realized that the classroom could become overwhelming with sound and color and objects. With a Brush of Love works with parents and caregivers to create calming spaces – bedrooms, playrooms, entire environments – for children with autism. She collaborates with families around the world to assist them in optimizing their child’s space. Henry has written a book, Unique Kids, Unique Surroundings, that gives families easy-to-use suggestions about color and design. She also has piloted A Room to be Different. “Each episode highlights a family, tells their unique story, and walks the viewers through an analysis and design process that addresses that family's needs.”
